After doing some light research & talking with some friends who incorporate cold showers into their daily routine I discovered that a cold shower in the morning does more than just “wake you up”.
Researchers touched on it helping reduce stress levels, as well as achieve higher levels of alertness, more robust immune response and increased willpower.
One benefit that stood out to me, is: Reduced stress levels
They say that regularly taking cold showers imposes a small amount of stress on your body, which leads to a process called hardening. This means that your nervous system gradually gets used to handling moderate levels of stress. The hardening process helps you to keep a cool head, the next time you find yourself in a stressful situation.
I found this point most interesting, and a reason as to why I want to try cold showers! 😆🥶🙈
