An excerpt from a beautiful blog I have been reading for over 10 years. The Marginalian "We too are living now through such a world, caught again between two ages, confused and conflicted, suffocating and suffering. But we have a powerful instrument for self-understanding, for cutting through the confusion to draw from these civilizational phase transitions new and stronger structures of possibility: the creative spirit. Hesse observes that artists feel these painful instabilities more deeply than the rest of society and more restlessly, and out of that restlessness they make the lifelines that save us, the lifelines we call art"

Today is a big day. Whether you are sad or happy today, I hope everyone did their best. What happens in the US greatly has effect on Canada and my work demographic.
Regardless of what happens, instead of people arguing or making fun of one another, there is much more power in focusing on education, sustaining local small businesses, and environmental conservation (oceans, forests, renewable energy). These have real world consequences in your community such as, education access, grocery prices, job accessibility, and neighbourhood safety.
The smallest things you can do at home have real world effects you can do daily/weekly that is more powerful than voting every few years (obviously you can do both). This ranges from bank investments that avoid fossil fuels, buying less clothing, buying less plastic, supporting local farmers, buying into ownership shares of local businesses, and a lot more you can look up or I am sure even ask Chat GPT.
I am not here to tell you what to do, just hoping to extend a thought for you to ponder on. As I do feel people from all parties wish to pave a better future. β¨

(17 PICS) Lil' throwback to the first photoset I ever did for my Onlyfans April 2020. 9 months postpartum, having NO idea what I was doing. Using my webcam with no idea how to edit them. When I look at this set now, all I see is the female gaze. Which is all I knew at the time, with no opinions from any man what "sucked", "should do more of", or insight metrics. I see a lot influences from the pin-ups, my dance training, fashion magazines, and artwork I have admired over the years.
I don't think my content is worse or better from then, but a part of me has a deep sense of loss because I can never go back to that ignorance and pure freedom. That is the very nature of growing older in general. I love my content from then and of current day for very different reasons.
If you like these types of throwback posts I am happy to do them more for you! π€

Pink curtains. Tinting my white photography curtains pink. I need more colour as they are too light. This is the stove top method of ritdye π€ Am incorporating more pink into my living room. To off set the cobalt blue couches. And commit it to a stronger art deco x hollywood regency x art pop aesthetic.
Hollywood regency has been a great love of mine in design for many years as it features a lot of rococo. Rococo, think pastels and ornate gold details, 1700s, cupids, love baby love. Rococo is the feminine and baroque is masculine with them often being confused. Rococo is static, has airy colours, and is approachable. Baroque has movement in natural or religious designs, such as in painted ceilings. Rococo is heyy bb soft colours squee hehe, and baroque is rough, light, with dark contrast.
